Job Summary
The Resident Care Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to residents in assisted living, retirement homes, or nursing home settings. This position involves assisting residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Provide support for residents with memory care needs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Help residents with mobility and transfers, including lifting when necessary.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and communicate effectively with team members.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging social interaction and participation in community activities.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety within the living environment.
Skills
- Experience in home care or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and practices.
- Ability to perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members.
