Job Summary
The Resident Care Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to residents in a nursing home or retirement home setting. This position involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity while promoting their independence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of resident rights and be committed to maintaining a clean and supportive environment for all residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
  • Uphold resident rights by treating each individual with respect and dignity.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to memory care and long-term care practices.

Experience

  • Previous experience in an assisted living facility, retirement home, or long-term care facility is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the facility.
